Bathroom and Wet Rooms

In wet rooms water passes through joints and corner details rather than through the tile. A stain on the floor below is almost always a detail failure.

A liquid-applied waterproofing layer goes under the tile, with tape reinforcement at wall-to-floor junctions and corners.

Tile adhesive is chosen by deformation class — low grades are not used in wet rooms.

The shower tray and the area around the drain are where the system is stressed most and need their own detail.
